Dahlias are real showboats and gardeners for generations have been fascinated by them to the point of obsession. It is easy to see why, their floral display is both dramatic and beautiful and these ‘Perfect match’ varities are no exception.
These rounded heavily petalled blooms come in pink that is flecked with white, they flower all over the crown of the plant , arising on sturdy stems and appearing from July until late September. These Dahlias are remarkably tolerant of a range of soils, their roots will only dislike waterlogged conditions, they like a nice sunny spot and will look perfect in a herbaceous border or in a cottage style garden.
They also can be used in a seasonal bedding style setting, either in an open ground or container situation. Add some good organic compost when planting and dead head spent flowers in summer. They will die back in autumn and their underground form will need protecting from frosts and excess soil drenching.
