The gorgeous cultivar dahlia 'Mikayla Miranda' is renowned for its vivid, striking blooms. Large, rich purple flowers with closely spaced petals that give the flowers a full, luscious appearance are the highlight of this dahlia cultivar. 'Mikayla Miranda' is a well-liked option for bringing a pop of vibrant colour to any garden setting because of its deep purple shade.

This type is perfect for planting in borders, floral displays, or as a striking addition to a cutting garden because it grows to a height of about 90–120 cm. Dahlias grow best in well-drained, nutritious soil and appreciate full sun exposure, which helps to increase the colour of their blooms.

Supplied as tubers, the best time to plant is in April and May. To plant them, dig a hole at least 20-30cm square and around 20-30cm deep for each one. Cover the base of the hole with 10cms of compost, or manure and give it a good dousing with a full watering can and then plant the dahlia at a depth of 15-20cms. You will need a stout stake, not just a bamboo cane, to support each plant and it is a good idea to knock this in first and then place the plant by its side. It will need to be lifted in winter - once the foliage dies back simply dig it up and store in a cool, frost free location.
