A beautiful and very productive variety of courgette, 'Romanesco' is named for its unique ribbed, light green fruits that have a hint of nutty flavour. These are great on the grill or in a sauté pan, or added to soups or salads. Home gardeners love 'Romanesco' because the plants are vigorous and yield a continuous harvest all summer long.

Plant in rich, well-drained soil that receives full sun. Water the soil frequently to maintain an even moisture level, and mulch to keep moisture in the soil and keep weeds out. When the courgettes are between 15 and 20 cm long, harvest them for optimal flavour and texture. Pick the fruits frequently to promote more growth.
