This kousa dogwood is the perfect ornamental shrub or tree to give you a profusion of blooms in late spring as well as amazing architectural structure. Cornus kousa can be kept as a medium sized shrub or small tree depending upon preference and grows with lovely weeping branches that are covered in large mid-green leaves from spring to autumn. Blooming in spring, small green flowers are surrounded by four showy, symmetrical white bracts, displaying stunning pure white colour as well as attracting pollinators. These flowers are followed by unique pinkish-red fleshy almost strawberry-like fruits. This plant is slow growing with an ultimate height and spread of 4-8 metres and with pruning can be maintained at a small size. We recommend planting this at the back or edge of a mixed border to add structure, but his cornus also works amazingly when planting in a pot or lawn as a solo specimen.

Cornus kousa grows best in full sun or partial shade and prefers moist but well-drained soil, tolerating well-drained soil. It is fully hardy so can establish in exposed or sheltered gardens and can grow in any soil structure or pH.

Supplied in approx. 7-10 litre containers.

The primary intended use of this plant is to grow food for human consumption.

There are thousands of different plant species that can be consumed, and our extensive range is no exception. We have conveniently listed a large number of edible plants here. Additionally, we have compiled several articles and handy recipes for some of the plants you are less likely to find in supermarkets.

We always recommend conducting your own research before consuming any plant to understand the various ways different varieties can be prepared and consumed. Be mindful of potential allergies when trying anything new and ensure it is suitable for all who may be consuming it.

Some plants or varieties can also be cultivated as animal feed for livestock, such as poultry, game, and livestock reared for consumption. Again, we advise doing your own research to select the most appropriate plants for your livestock.
