Availability: In stock

Cornus florida, commonly known as Flowering Dogwood, is a stunning deciduous tree cherished for its breathtaking spring display and year-round appeal. In late spring, it bursts into bloom with large, showy bracts in shades of pure white or soft pink, surrounding small, inconspicuous true flowers at the centre. These floral clusters create a cloud-like effect, transforming the tree into a floral masterpiece. As autumn arrives, the dark green leaves turn vibrant shades of red, burgundy, and purple, while bright red berries attract birds and wildlife.

Ideal as a specimen tree or part of a mixed border, Cornus florida thrives in well-drained, acidic to neutral soil and enjoys full sun to partial shade. Minimal pruning is needed – just remove dead or crossed branches in late winter. Pair with evergreen shrubs like Rhododendron or contrasting flowering trees like Magnolia for a layered, picturesque garden setting.

Strong plants in approx. 7 litre containers at around 80-100cm tall.
