Colquhounia Coccinea

Colquhounia coccinea, often known as Scarlet-flowered Mint Shrub, is a stunning evergreen perennial or subshrub that is native to the Himalayas. It blooms with bright scarlet-orange tubular flowers in late summer, against fragrant, velvety grey-green foliage. This plant adds a tropical flair to landscapes and is perfect for late-season colour to borders or as a statement shrub.

Plant in well-drained soil, in full sun or mild shade. It flourishes in warmer settings but may require winter protection in cooler areas. Water moderately during the growth season, and less in the winter. Prune sparingly in early spring to shape and promote new growth. An excellent choice for tropical or Mediterranean-themed gardens.
