The 'Blue Lake' climbing French bean type is exceptionally productive and valued for its delicate, stringless pods and delicious flavour. This climbing bean may be harvested from mid-summer to early fall and is prized for its fast growth and abundant medium-green bean production. The beans retain their freshness and texture whether they are frozen, canned, or used fresh.
Climbing French Bean 'Blue Lake' should be supported by grown-up supports, like poles or a trellis, to facilitate easy harvesting and promote vertical growth for optimal results. It likes bright, well-drained soil in a sunny spot. For a plentiful crop, regular irrigation is crucial, especially when the pods start to form.
