Clematis alpina - Alpine Clematis

Alpine clematis, or Clematis alpina, is a lovely deciduous climber that lends a touch of natural beauty to any garden. This hardy perennial blooms in early to mid-spring with delicate, nodding bell-shaped flowers in shades of blue, purple, pink, or white. The fluffy, pretty seed heads that remain attractive well into autumn accompany the blooms. The moderate size of Alpine Clematis makes it ideal for small gardens or containers, and it's great for trellises, fences, and pergolas.

Clematis alpina grows well in full sun to partial shade, needs little pruning, and is low maintenance for gardeners of all skill levels. It also prefers well-drained soil. All you have to do is trim after flowering to promote strong growth.
