Cephalanthus occidentalis - Button Bush
Availability: In stock
Cephalanthus occidentalis, commonly known as Buttonbush, is a striking deciduous shrub that thrives in wet soils and near water features. This fast-growing plant produces unique, spherical white flower clusters in summer, attracting pollinators like butterflies and bees. Its glossy green foliage turns a warm yellow in autumn, adding seasonal interest. Ideal for wildlife gardens, Buttonbush also provides shelter for birds and other beneficial insects. As an added bonus, it produces an intensely rich nectar perfume.
Best suited for damp or wet locations, such as pond edges, marshy areas, or rain gardens. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers moist, acidic soil. Minimal maintenance is required—prune in late winter to shape.
Supplied in approx. 2-3 litre containers.
