With attractive dark green leaves and an outstanding golden-yellow colour in autumn, it is great for making dense, leafy hedges that offer not only privacy but also wind protection on more exposed sites. 

This pack of 25 bare-root plants are supplied at a height of 60-80cm. Perfect for hedging, the 'Hornbeam' is actually a variety of tree, which can grow to over 12 meters tall. If used for hedging, simply allow it to grow to your desired height and maintain its shape with yearly trimming

Hornbeam can tolerate a wide range of soils, including heavy clay types, and can be partially adjusted to the sun or partial shade, thus making it quite tolerant in the garden area. Also, bearing frequent clipping quite well for keeping in good, definitely kept shape, it is ideally suited for formal or informal gardens. For the best start, plant your Hornbeam hedging in well-drained soil and water thoroughly during its first growing season to establish a deep, strong root system
