Clematis Ernest Markham - Summer Flowering Clematis

Clematis 'Ernest Markham' is a superb deciduous climber. It is no surprise that this outstanding plant has won the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit. Produces stunning, magenta-coloured flowers from the middle of Summer right through to mid-Autumn. Gold-chocolate coloured centres really set this plant apart from the rest and the vivid flowers contrast beautifully with the mid-green leaves.

The perfect plant for scrambling through roses and shrubs or climbing against fences and walls. Best grown in moist, well-drained soil in full sun to enhance blooming and stem ripening. Prune back to a small 20cm shoot in early Spring to encourage vigorous growth.
