Availability: Out of stock
Ball type Dahlia 'Night Queen' produces stunning, deep red, crimson flowers, some can be such a dark red that it is almost black! A spectacular arrangement of closely cupped petals forming a large ball-like flower head. Blooming from mid Summer right through to early Autumn, this really is a superb variety of Dahlia. Great for adding bold, bright colour to the garden when it can start to look a little tired. Grows up to around 85cm tall.
These are for planting from Mid-late Spring and is supplied as a single tuber.
Â
Best time to plant is in April. To plant them, dig a hole at least 20-30cm square and around 20-30cm deep for each one. Cover the base of the hole with 10cm of compost, or manure and give it a good dousing with a full watering can and then plant the dahlia at a depth of 15-20cm. You will need a stout stake, not just a bamboo cane, to support each plant and it is a good idea to knock this in first and then place the plant by its side. It will need to be lifted in winter - once the foliage dies back simply dig it up and store in a cool, frost free location.

Supplied as a bare root bulb ready to bloom.Â
