Time was when Mulberries were the food of kings and hard to come by, today you'll still struggle to find them in any super markets, and indeed, they are still as fit for Royalty today as ever - the national collection of Mulberries is in fact planted at Buckingham and Kensington palaces amongst others. They make the most amazing jams and preserves, or simply used as other summer fruits in all manner of deserts and just on their own as a healthy snack.
Known as the Mojo Berry, this Morus gives 1000's of SUPERFRUITS in one year and from a young age - all summer long you can pick these healthy superfruit berries. The Mojo Berry was introduced in the UK at Chelsea Flower Show as Charlotte Russe and won the Plant of the Year in 2017 - such an accolade lets you know what a wonderful plant it is when you consider the stiff competition.
Mojo Berry gives fruits on both old ánd new wood, meaning you can be picking mulberries within the first year as opposed to the usual 5 or 6 years it takes most other mulberries. Unlike other varieties that only produce fruit over a 3 week period towards the end of summer, Mojo Berry produces berries over a very long period, from late May right through until September! The fruits are great to use for jam, cake, snacks or other dishes. Plant Mojo Berry in a fertile, well-drained soil in a bright position, should you wish to prune, this can be done in the spring.
Mojo Berry is beautiful as solitary plant on a terrace or patio but also in the border or a mixed container. Fully hardy, isn't it time for you to get growing your own Superfruits?
Supplied in approx 1 litre conatiner.
