Betula pendula Tristis - Weeping Silver Birch Tree - 180-220cm tall Young Tree

Product ref: T22262

Availability: In stock

Commonly known as the Weeping Bitch this delicately leafed tree is architecturally elegant and will provide you with wonderful colour. This is a tall ornamental tree characterised by its amazing bright white bark and heavily weeping, slightly twisted branches. Its deciduous dropping foliage emerges a beautiful blue green and turns a creamy yellow in autumn before it falls revealing the elegant sculptural shape of a weeping birch. Slender brown catkins provide spring interest. This medium sized shrub can grow up to 12 metres tall after 20 years but can also be easily kept small. This tree works well in a border scheme with the bark and foliage contrasting well with bright flowers and adding height to an area.

‘Tristis’ is a versatile plant and can grow in exposed or sheltered gardens as well as in full sun or partial shade. It establishes in any soil as long as it is moist but well drained.

Supplied in approx 7.5 litre containers at 180-220cm tall.
