Ballota pseudodictamnus

False Dittany, or Ballota pseudodictamnus, is a lovely, low-maintenance perennial that gives the garden a silky, fuzzy texture. This native of the Mediterranean region has dense, mounding, grey-green, felt-like foliage that is perfect for ground cover, rock gardens, or as an edge plant in a border.

The plant is planted mostly for its stunning foliage, which adds year-round appeal; however, it also produces small, inconspicuous pale pink to white flowers in the summer. Growing in full sun and well-drained soil, Ballota pseudodictamnus usually reaches a height of approximately 60 cm and spreads to make a mat up to 1 metre broad.
