Pseudosasa japonica - Arrow Bamboo - 90-120cm tall Plants
Availability: In stock
Pseudosasa japonica, commonly known as Arrow Bamboo, is a striking, tall-growing bamboo ideal for creating lush, evergreen screens or exotic garden backdrops. Its strong, upright canes can reach up to 4–5 metres tall, topped with broad, glossy green leaves that resemble the shape of arrowheads. Dense and elegant, it forms a thick privacy barrier that also works beautifully as a windbreak or feature planting in both modern and traditional gardens.
This running bamboo thrives in fertile, well-drained soil and performs best in full sun to partial shade. It is hardy, wind-tolerant, and suitable for coastal gardens. To control its spread, plant with a root barrier or in large containers. Water regularly during dry spells and cut back old canes in spring to encourage fresh growth. Pair with ornamental grasses or bold perennials like Crocosmia for a dramatic, layered effect.
Supplied at up to around 90-120cm tall in approx 2.5 litre containers.
