With its characteristic russet-skinned fruit that has a firm, crisp taste and a sweet, nutty flavour, the Egremont Russet Apple Tree offers a novel take on the classic apple varieties. Rich and aromatic, this heritage type is prized for its ability to complement cheeses on a charcuterie board, provide depth to salads, and be eaten fresh. The fruit may be harvested starting in October and keeps well in storage, so you can savour its delicious flavour for months. The tree's lovely white-pink flowers in the spring will also draw pollinators to your garden.

Plant in a sunny, sheltered spot with well-drained, fertile soil. While Egremont Russet is partially self-fertile, planting it with another pollinator to boost yields. Prune annually in winter to maintain a healthy shape and encourage fruiting.

Supplied as strong bare root trees at around 150cm tall, grafted on a semi-dwarfing M26 rootstock, meaning they are easily maintained at a manageable size and will never reach more than 8-12ft tall.
