Some of the first fresh apples of the year are produced by the delicious early-season Discovery Apple Tree. Discovery apples have a crisp, juicy flesh and a bright red flush. They have a pleasant, refreshing flavour with a little strawberry undertone. These medium-sized apples are great for salads, desserts, and as a snack right off the tree. With its abundance of lovely pink and white blossoms that draw pollinators to your garden, the tree is a delight in the spring. The apple season gets off to a great start, with harvest starting as early as August.

Plant in a sunny position with well-drained, fertile soil. Although partially self-fertile, the Discovery apple tree benefits from a pollination partner. Regular pruning in winter will encourage healthy growth and fruit production.

Supplied as strong bare root trees at a height of around 110cm grafted on a MM106 rootstock, this produces a tree of moderate vigour suitable for most situations where fruit is of a nice pickable height. Trees are easily maintained at a manageable size and never reach more than around 12ft tall.
