Enjoy delicious, dessert-quality apples straight from your garden with the Christmas Pippin apple tree. This modern variety is often called the “garden Cox” thanks to its rich, sweet flavour and crisp texture—ideal for eating fresh. It’s a reliable, heavy cropper that produces attractive, golden fruit in early autumn, and stores well into the festive season—hence the name! Fragrant blossoms in spring also add ornamental value. Christmas Pippin is self-fertile, so it doesn’t need a partner to fruit, though yields may improve with another apple from Group 3 nearby. Prune in winter and water regularly during dry spells. Grow alongside Bramley’s 20 or Egremont Russet for variety and extended harvest times in your orchard.

Supplied as strong bare root trees grafted on a MM106 rootstock, this produces a tree of moderate vigour suitable for most situations where fruit is of a nice pickable height. Trees are easily maintained at a manageable size and never reach more than around 12ft tall.
