Acer palmatum Inaba-Shidare - Large
Availability: In stock
Acer Inaba Shidare has filigree-like purple foliage that forms an upright mound of colour. Spring foliage is striking red, and in the autumn the feathery leaves turn a stunning scarlet red, making it ideal for the focal point of a small garden, before shedding its leaves for the winter months.
This elegant, weeping Japanese maple is celebrated for its finely dissected, lace-like leaves and deep, dramatic colouring that lasts throughout the growing season. The graceful, cascading habit forms a dome-like shape, giving it architectural presence in borders, rockeries, or as a feature in a decorative container.
Acer Inaba Shidare thrives in moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soil and prefers a sheltered position in partial shade to protect its delicate foliage from harsh sun and strong winds. It’s ideal for Japanese-inspired gardens, courtyards, or alongside water features where its reflections enhance its beauty. Minimal pruning is required, simply remove any dead or crossing branches in late winter to maintain its shape. Pair with companion plants like ferns, azaleas, or dwarf conifers for a layered, textural garden scene.
Supplied in approx. 7.5 litre container.
