Acer palmatum Bihou - Bi Ho Golden Bark Japanese Maple Bi Hoo - Fantastic Year Round Colour
Availability: Out of stock
Acer Bihou is a fantastic form of Japanese maple that will shine out in the garden all year round. It is perfect in a patio planter or in the garden and would look particularly stunning as a backdrop to a water feature for example. It would also look most handsome as a solitary specimen on it's own, where it will grow to stand out over time whatever the weather! The winter bark colour could be compared in brightness to that of the well known dogwood or the canes of a bright bamboo.
In Spring the foliage will appear with a flush of salmon colouration before turning yellow-green. In autumn, Bihou will then take on a rich egg-yolk yellow shade, turning to orange prior to leaf fall. The next feature to be displayed particularly prevalently when all the leaves have gone is bright golden yellow bark, this provides interest all the way through winter until the tree re-leafs in spring. This brightly coloured bark has a warming glow to it and a charm all of its own, standing out even in the bleakest snowy conditions.
Highly recommended, Acer palmatum Bi Hoo is supplied in an approx. 3 litre container as a nice strong young tree, in winter the colour of the bark will really stand out.
